At a Governing Board meeting held on February 18, 2015, the trustees heard approximately five proposed options to improve and modernize the locker spaces inside the Bryden Gym.
The proposed options ranged from (a) using the existing spaces; (b) a complete re-do of the Bryden facility; and (c) looking at alternate locations at other sites on campus.
The Locker Room Facilities Project is to provide equitable facilities for all students and athletic teams. After a discussion, the board directed SPUSD staff to move forward to examine Option 2 (reconfiguring the entire gym) and Option 3 (tearing down the existing pool building and replacing it with either a one or two story facility).
WLC Architects was hired to prepare conceptual designs for these two options and is collaborating with the Physical Education Department and site administration on the needs of the daily programs and athletic sports. These design concepts will be reviewed at a future board meeting.
If you would like to provide the District with input regarding the Locker Room Facilities Project, please contact Doug Henning, Facilities Manager, at (805) 933-3901 or email@example.com to schedule a meeting.
