• Agriculture is the foundation of our local economy and plays a vital role in state and global economies.  If you have an interest in agriculture, the outdoors, or the world of business, we have two career options for you:  Ag Science Academy and an Ag Business Pathway.

    Agricultural Science Academy

This is a four year program.  Students apply in the spring of the 8th grade year to enroll in the Ag Academy.  Academy students enroll in content area classes together in grades 10, 11, and 12.

The Agriscience pathway helps students acquire a broad understanding of a variety of agricultural areas, develop an awareness of the many career opportunities in agriculture, participate in occupationally relevant experiences, and work cooperatively with a group to develop and expand leadership abilities. Students study California agriculture, agricultural business, agricultural technologies, natural resources, and animal, plant, and soil sciences. Sample occupations associated with this pathway: Research Assistant/Associate, Water Quality Specialist, Plant Scientist, Agriscience Teacher, Entomologist.  (source:  California Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards)

Students may opt to move from the introductory course to the Ag Business Pathway.
